Why am I getting this request for a telehealth session?
As a participant in the PROACTIVE™ Study, a Healthcare Provider has evaluated your Medical Records and determined that you can move to the final step of the study eligibility determination which involves a telehealth session. It is for this reason that you have received an email request and a link to schedule your telehealth session. We hope you are able to participate and complete this step.
What happens in this telehealth session?
A Healthcare Provider will speak with you during the session and go over your medical records and medical history. The overall goal of the session is to ensure that all the requirements of the study are satisfied before you move to the next stage of the study.
Who conducts this session?
A Healthcare Provider from Beam Healthcare (https://beam.healthcare) will conduct the session. Beam Healthcare is an approved study site investigator for the PROACTIVE™ Study and they work under the overall supervision of Progentec’s Principal Investigator.
How is the telehealth session going to be scheduled?
There is a clickable link (Calendly Link) below in the e-mail sent to you. You can click on the link to schedule the telehealth session. When you click this link, you will be shown available time slots that you can schedule your session with the physician. You can choose the time slot that works for you and follow the instructions provided. You will then receive an invitation by e-mail along with zoom call details that you can add to your calendar.
Whom do I contact if I need to reschedule my session? Whom do I contact if I have an emergency and cannot make the session?
Contact Jessica Crawley the PROACTIVE™ Clinical Research Coordinator by Phone or Text at (405) 413-7504. We will then work with the physician office to reschedule the meeting and resend you a new invite.
Is this telehealth session only available as a video visit or will there be a telephone call option? Does this session require a smartphone, tablet or personal computer to be used?
A video session is preferable, but a voice session is acceptable.
Will I be charged a copay or an office visit for the telehealth session?
All telehealth sessions and evaluations required by the study are provided at no cost to you or your insurance.
Will I need to fill out any documents and/or upload them, or sign a waiver prior to the telehealth visit?
No. At this point in the study all information required for the telehealth session has been collected.
Will there be any additional appointment confirmation or any required check-in prior to the appointment? Will anyone contact me prior to the telehealth session starting? Will I receive instructions on how to connect beforehand?
No. The instructions on connecting to the telehealth session are in the calendar invitation that you will receive. Briefly, you follow the link in the calendar appointment to start your telehealth session. We suggest you follow the link 5-10 minutes before the scheduled time of your appointment. When the telehealth physician starts the session, you will be brought into the virtual meeting room and the session begins.

What do I do if the doctor is late to the telehealth session?

Will I need to prepare any information for the – telehealth session (e.g. bp, temperature, weight, height, family history)?
No. However, the telehealth physician has reviewed your medical records and will ask you questions regarding your health history during the session which does not require any prior preparation.
Will there be a translator if needed?
No, the telehealth session will be conducted in English.
What happens after this session is completed?
Once the telehealth session is completed, the physician will determine if you meet all the study inclusion criteria. If you meet all the requirements, you will be informed accordingly and advised on next steps and instructions on scheduling a session for lab tests.
What are the steps in the study following this session?
After the telehealth session, if it has been determined that you meet all the study criteria, you will have lab work, a telehealth session with a Rheumatologist, and a telehealth session with one of the Centers of Excellence for Lupus. We will also provide you with free access to our Mobile App and a Withings ScanWatch wearable device. Jessica Crawley, the PROACTIVE™ Clinical Research Coordinator, will send you detailed instructions on how the wearable device will be sent to you as well as step-by-step instructions on how you will be able to set up the device and access our App.
How is the Lab session and sample collection conducted?
Lab specimen collection will be done at a location convenient to you. A mobile phlebotomy technician from ExamOne, a Quest Diagnostics Company (https://www.examone.com), will schedule a time with you. You will receive an email with a link you can use to choose a time for the visit by the technician.
Will I have to do anything further after the telehealth session is completed?
Following the completion of the telehealth session you will be sent an email with the next steps in the study.
